Playful Workout with «Plunder Planet»

«Plunder Planet» is a dynamically adaptive fitness game environment, which motivates children and young adolescents to be more physically active in a playful manner. It takes the player on a rapid treasure hunting on a dessert planet. The exergame provides a holistic, maximum motivating and effective training experience.

Unlike commercially available exergames, «Plunder Planet» can be controlled with two controller versions: A specifically developed Full-Body-Motion-Controller challenges the player coordinatively and cognitively while the gesture-based Kinect® sensor allows for a higher freedom of movement.
Additionally, the player is guided to his/her individual and optimal training mode (dual flow) by specifical game mechanics. The game difficulty and complexity are continuously adjusted to the current physical and emotional states and needs of the player during the training session based on psychophysiological measurements.

The game is developed in an iterative and user-centered design process by a team of sport scientists and game designers. The R&D-project is located at the Subject Area in Game Design of the Zurich University of the Arts.

Come and test the playful «Plunder Planet» workout; either as single- or as multiplayer version. Go with the Dual Flow!
