Several years after its resurgence, virtual reality continues in its «wild west» phase. New technologies come with new possibilities and new problems, creating an ongoing learning experience for the cinematic VR creator. I Philip is the first narrative film in VR produced in Europe. Based on that, everything was a challenge. There wasn’t any tools to create a great cinematic experience. Above the grammar is totally different. At some point there’s even a real question to ask ourselvelves does Cinema and VR can be compared ? Isn’t it like theather and cinema ? So different that is shouldn’t be even compared to ?
Through discussions focused on six challenging areas: capturing 360 video and volumetric live-action content; video-based post production; spatial audio; VR as a storytelling medium; and the future of cinematic VR.
