Lucy

The mixed-reality game turns Zurich into a playground

The urban game «Lucy» was developed by the subject area in game design(ZHdK) for international students, but is open to be played by everyone at the Digitaltag. In small groups the players will explore the city, equipped with smartphones or tablets. They visit up to 100 places, ranging from nightclubs, open air baths to churches, works of art etc., collect virtual quartet cards, trade them or try to steal them from under their noses. An integrated intercultural quiz is completing the app.
By augmenting the city with technology the mixed-reality game is exciting not just for newcomers, but also for long-time residents: It lets you experience a familiar environment in a new, playful way and therefore turns Zurich into a ludic city.
