SABRE

SABRE technology should allow the musicians to easily use digital technologies without training in computer programming. We had to find a way for a musician to communicate in real time, via their instrument, and for that information to be transmitted to a computer. The player should be able to play in a comfortable way, and should not be distracted from making music.

After the conception and realization of successful prototypes, the big step was to design SABRE as a high quality product for a large market, and to make it affordable for musicians worldwide. This process was long and created many challenges which are now solved. First, we had to change the original SABRE prototype for bass clarinet into a simplified version that could be used on all clarinets and saxophones.

The most obvious use of SABRE is in music, but the possibilities do not end there. SABRE technology also offers the possibility of completely new collaborations with other arts. Through digital communication the musician can communicate in other digital arts like film, visuals and light.

But SABRE is not only interesting for the professional artist. It offers all levels of musician the chance to have fun with music. SABRE will be an interesting device for music pedagogy. Through the Sabre Multi Sensor it will be possible play, learn and perform music with videogames.
